Today is a classic triplet CrossFit! Two bodyweight movements: the “everyday air squat”- a staple in our exercise arsenal and the handstand push up- a moderately skilled gymnastic movement… paired with something a bit heavy that you gotta lift up off the floor. Blend that around for 15 minutes to see how many rounds you can do… and that equals some pretty high reps for each of the 3!
We are looking for squats that are executed with virtuosity (you better click on that, it is our most frequently linked article- you should have read it by now!). For handstand push ups that can be hit for a set of 20 in about 3-4 sets- if needed, using a modification that enables this number of reps in a row for the first few rounds. Then a deadlift that can be done touch and go in no more than 2 sets.
In closing, the programming of this triplet exemplifies the variety of movements, has functionally to the exercises, with a coach working on skills and drills, then keeping you focused on solid mechanics, all while pushing yourself to the limits of your physical and mental tolerance… right there with other great human beings. See… Classic CrossFit!
