A long time tradition at CrossFit Malibu is to have a BBQ at the Hut when Deadlift 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 comes up as the workout of the day. And today is one of those days. Come in to work up to a new personal record on your deadlift in any of the WOD classes- there are 5 opportunities to do that during the day. At the 5pm hour you can DO the workout and/or watch the 5pm deadlift crew while you eat something off the grill.
If you have not done ANY deadlifting recently– then consider not shooting for a new record- but instead use this day as a training day RATHER than a testing day. If you are an athlete new to the Hut or have never done any heavy lifting… you can do more repetitions per set and slowly work up in load as you feel comfortable. Those of you ready to fire away and hit a new PR… make sure you have a plan of how you will get there. And then go for it.
