Tuesday 180130 “The Chief”

It has been a while since doing The Chief as a WOD class. We have definitely done a few WODs in the same template of 5 AMRAPs of 3 minute duration, each with a 1 minute rest… but there is something deceivingly “pointy” about the stimulus on this particular triplet.

After today’s WOD, you might REALLY enjoy a chance of pace in the Wednesday WOD class this week. While I often advertise a full gymnastics day or a complete mobility work session- this Wednesday has a slight variation. It is a “natural movement” hour in each of the WOD classes. Not sure what that is?… then you REALLY want to get in here on Wednesday. It will not only be a good follow up to the Chief- but it will be a novel day in many ways.

The Chief- Each year in the United States Navy, a highly qualified and elite cadre of Sailors are selected and promoted to the join the ranks of Chief Petty Officer. Since 1893, “The Chiefs” have been relied upon by subordinates and superiors alike for their personal example, technical expertise and above all, their unique leadership capabilities. As the induction process for newly selected Chief Petty Officers is now underway throughout the US Navy, we thought it appropriate to inaugurate “The Chief” in honor and recognition of all past and present CPOs. Thanks to them and their families for their self-sacrifice, ability to adapt, tireless dedication to mission and devotion to country.

Tuesday’s WOD at 6, 7, 9am and again at 4 and 6pm
“The Chief”
5 sets, each a 3 minute AMRAP of:
Power clean, 3 reps (60/45kg)
6 push ups
9 air squats
Rest exactly one minute.
Post total rounds, reps and load.
Begin each new set where the last set left off.
