Coming up later this week are olympic lifting days: Thursday and Friday to be precise. Each of those hour-long sessions will be dedicated to a single lift. Thursday for working up to a one rep max snatch. Friday for hitting a personal record for a single clean and jerk. Why 2 lifting days in a row? Why not is an OKAY answer… but it isn’t really the true answer for this week. The reason is because of the CrossFit Liftoff event that technically begins Thursday at 5pm. We know the first two events- of 3 total- are the traditional olympic lifts. Your score is the total load lifted for each movement. The third and final event is a mixed modality WOD that will likely include some aspect of olympic lifting… maybe and overhead squat or a power clean. We will find out when the announcement is made this Thursday at 5pm. We will run that WOD as Saturday’s “main event” at 9:30am in lieu of a partner WOD.
In addition to the CrossFit Liftoff beginning- there is perhaps even bigger news in the world of competitive Olympic weightlifting as the 2017 International Weightlifting World Championships take place this week in Anaheim- they started today and run though next week

Wednesday’s WOD at 7 and 9am, and again at 4 and 6pm
