Friday 170113 “Isabel”

We are at the end of one of the rainiest weeks in years… and I guess “when it rains it pours.”  That’s basically what it feels like ending the week with a WOD like Isabel!  You’ve already put in some days of effort and perhaps are looking forward to the end of both the work week and the workout week… and then you see Isabel! The silver lining here is that it only lasts a handful of minutes.  So rather than worry about having to push for 20 minutes on one of those long chippers… today you simply have to gut it out for a fraction of that time. But it REALLY takes guts to go for it. Sure we will be covering technique work during the session. There’s actually lots of time to warm up and also get some good mechanics practice in. And then for the timed part of the hour: thirty reps with a moderately heavy weight. Plug away at it… and be brave.  On a short test piece like Isabel you don’t want to spend too much time standing there watching a barbell sit on the ground. Go after it and then you can relax.  After all, it IS Friday!

Kristin brought in 2 of her sons, Zane and Ethan (pictured) to try out a WOD this week before they headed back to college.
