Wednesday 160810 Front Squat and then Sprints

The Hermosa-Manhattan Beach “pier to pier” is a swim event covering over 2 miles distance beginning on the south side of Hermosa Beach Pier and finishing on the north side of Manhattan Beach Pier.  When she is in Malibu (and not in New Haven CT), Kim swims on Sunday mornings with the Tower 14 crew at Zuma…. and, of course, gets to the Hut with husband Peter as often as possible.  She has competed in this swim event before… this year she earned 5th place in her division out of more than 30 other athletes!  Congratulations Kim!  Her race report:   Mike and I had great swims. It was a little rough yesterday, so times were slower than usual, but all in all, a great event!! Even with the rough water, it didn’t feel any more difficult than in years past–must be all the CrossFit workouts! ; )

5pm olympic weightlifting technique session

Front squat
X-X-X for max total load, limit of 9 squats each set
Must take bar from ground
Post 3 loads to chalkboard/journals
Ex: 7×50=350kg/6×55=330kg/8×45=360kg`

6x100m run sprint-surges
