Have you noticed that United States Flags are hanging at half mast at all official US and California government buildings this past week? This is in deference to Peace Officers Memorial Day and Police Week– for those public servants who have paid the ultimate sacrifice while “wearing a badge and putting themselves in harm’s way to keep us safe.” President Obama said in a proclamation on May 13th of this year that “we pay respect for those who lost their lives in the line of duty.” May 15th is now known as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which it falls is designated as Police Week.
At the end of the month is Memorial Day and we will honor those who have died while serving the United States in the military by holding the annual “Murph” WOD. Put this on your calendar now- we start at 9:30am on Monday, May 30th.
