Multiple movements-each involving full-body engagement, a time domain much like a fast 1.5-2 mile run requiring solid cardio respiratory endurance, stamina and muscular endurance. Today’s WOD might not be a favorite of the body-builder or weightlifter- but it is optimal to someone requiring real-world fitness. Sure we love those couplets and triplets for maintaining proximity to that “point of the spear” but when it comes to direct comparison to the functional movements required to race and obstacle course then today’s chipper is great for those Spartan specialists. Remember yesterday we joked a bit about the energizer bunny exercisers- but in today’s WOD it is the muscle-bound meathead who is going to be suffering through things. That’s why it is just best to show up- regardless what is programmed. It ensures you develop a brand, general and inclusive fitness.
