A new month, a new time schedule for sun rises/sets, a new series of specialty class foci for the next weeks, and official entry into holiday season. A new personal record board as well. All are fresh new opportunities for growth and change. I know that in just a few days some people are going to start complaining that the holiday music has started on the radio, that shopping sales are being advertised on TV commercials, that the decorations have started going up and that McDonalds egg nog shakes and pumpkin pies are back on the menus. Today I am going to encourage you to fight the urge to jump on the negative attitude bandwagon.
When you take a look at the WOD each day this week take a look at your reaction. Is it negative or doubtful? Is your first comment or response somewhat of a downer? Well this week… don’t let that happen. Practice seeing the WOD and CHOOSING a positive response. Instead of “ugh- I suck at that”… try saying, “today I get a change to practice being better at that.”
Sometimes it is easy to be negative. People with poor outlooks tend to clump together… and bad attitudes have a way of multiplying. Don’t give in. Be the one with the positive outlook… it is what wins in the end.
