Monday 151012 TGUs and 4 x 500m Row

Neither high temperatures nor big waves held back athletes early Sunday morning.  The entire field swam the half mile journey down the coast to the Headlands, pedaled fiercely along the 12 mile course and covered the 3.1 miles  riddled with hills on foot  and finished the 3rd running of the Point Dume Sprint Triathlon.  For Quinn, Odin and Anthony this was their very first triathlon experience- congratulations guys- welcome to the club!  Veterans Stan, Lydia, Charlie and Tony have completed a number of them over the years but completed our home course for the first time.  Peter and Kolby continue on as the only 2 legacy runners of this course.  Thanks to the volunteer crew who took good care of the athletes this morning- it wouldn’t be possible without you: Andy, Dr Deb, Nils, Hannah, Jon, Mike H and David B.  Thanks also to our local businesses who donated prizes for the raffle: CrossFit Malibu :), Sunlife Organics, Malibu Beach Yoga and Lululemon.

Here are the raffles prizes that the competitors won:
Quinn- Grand Prize, Elements Series: 3 CrossFit Malibu individual training sessions $235

Peter- one month membership to Malibu Beach Yoga

We will get those prizes to you- or you can pick them up at the Hut.

Anyone interested in participating in the Winter Point Dume Sprint Triathlon (version 4.0) let us know!  There are relay groups forming now… and of course you could always go at it as an individual athlete: newcomers and veterans are encouraged to sign up. More in the near future.

15 minutes to work up to a 1 rep max on R/L sides

Four rounds, each for time, of:
Row 500m
Rest as needed between rounds
Post each 500m time AND cumulative row time to chalkboard/journals/PR board?!
