CrossFit Malibu Foundation Programs
Before joining group classes we require each prospective member to complete one of our Foundations Programs. These differ depending on your experience, fitness level and schedule- we will help you determine which Foundations Program is best for you. This is most often done during your orientation or introduction session.
Foundations classes introduce the fundamental movement patterns used in CrossFit training. The basics of squatting, pressing and deadlifting are explicitly taught and practiced. Proper movement mechanic, scaling and modification of exercises, and proper use of all gym equipment is covered in detail. Progression through a Foundation Program gives prospective members skills, confidence and a baseline level of fitness before joining group classes. These programs also allow coaches to learn the needs and personal issues of each new member. Here is a short overview of each program:
Elements Series- schedule these individual classes at your convenience
Working individually with a coach, learn the 9 fundamental movements in five class sessions. Programmed just like a regular class but with the added attention of direct, individual coaching. This series works well for people with busy schedules because appointments can be made at a time that is best for you. We have found that by working in a one-on-one setting, athletes new to CrossFit Malibu are better prepared to enter group classes.
An ongoing beginner class- this is part of our regularly scheduled weekday classes, each fundamentals class spends more time and focus on the basics than the standard group classes. Current members attend this class as well as newcomers. Special attention is taken in scaling the daily WOD to your ability and fitness level.
Unlimited Group Classes
$255 each month
$235 each month with a 4 month, autopay contract
$135 for a one-hour session
$1250 for a 10 session package within a 2 month period
Getting Started Program
Elements Training (required for all athletes new to CrossFit Malibu)
$395/ Five individual, one hour sessions completed within a 3 week period
$190/ month with a 4 month, autopay contract
*These discounts are available on an individual basis for current military, lifeguard, law enforcement with proof of employement. Available for full-time Pepperdine students, faculty and staff with current ID card.
Out-of-town Visiting CrossFitters^
$25/ class- please call and reserve a space at least 24 hours in advance
Weekly memberships are available
^We ask that all visitors have at least 6 months of experience with CrossFit. Visiting athletes should be well-oriented to CrossFit training AND be able to function independently in group classes. We do not allow friends/family who do not regularly do CrossFit to attend group classes. Cross training is not CrossFit.
