Tracy came through her major surgery on Wednesday. It was a 15 hour ordeal at UCLA with many surgeons and specialists involved. Good news that when removing some lymph nodes, they were determined to be negative for cancer. They reported no complications whatsoever and she is recovering nicely. The Powells found out that Tracy had breast cancer this past Thanksgiving- since then she has gone through weeks of chemotherapy, continued doing CrossFit many weekdays and at Saturday Team WODs, was the guest of honor at the Helen Meets Grace event at Golden State CrossFit as a fundraiser for Barbells for Boobs, learned her job was moving her and the family to NYC in August, and has continued working through it all. She is truly an inspiration to all of us at the Hut… to her family and friends… and all who know of her story. We wish the Tracy, Matt, Graysen, Ryan, and Paige the best. Glad they will still be around for most of the summer. More news at it emerges.
