Curt mixes up some backsquats by going Westside Barbell style. Typically, as you drive out of the HOLE (the deepest position) from a squat- the weight will get easier as you stand. To strengthen the drive out of the hole in these stronger positions… simply add very heavy chains to the ends of the barbell. The higher you drive from the bottom, the more chain you pick up off the floor- the more chain that is lifted from the floor and suspended from the barbell, the heavier the weight. Voila’… increasing strength throughout entire range of motion. It works. Try and strength class: Mondays and Wednesdays at 6pm. I will keep telling you about these classes until you finally try one!
